About the Mommy Bloggers Guide
Too many mommy bloggers just start a blog without every considering anything before they begin. This is mainly due to the fact that no one has ever taught them what they should be doing or has given them any guidance as to where to start. This is what the Mommy Bloggers Guide is all about.
I have been teaching people how to use their computers, software, the Internet web design since 1993. I used to be known as The Computer Lady before I became a full-time blogger. Now I am going to teach you how to blog and make money as a mom blogger.
Believe it or not, I started my blogging journey by winning a copy of the book, Six Figure Blogging, by Problogger Darren Rowse. I started reading his book but have never gotten past chapter 4. Once I learned enough of that method I found Grizzly from Canada and followed his methods. Both men are brilliant and have a lot to offer. One method isn't better than the other and after awhile I decided I had learned quite enough to come up with my own conclusions.
I took what I learned from each one and incorporated them into my own style. I think the blending of social blogging and search engine blogging can come together to make for a successful blog. I don't think either method is better than the other so I decided to combine the two. You will learn the methods I have taken from both sides of the equation to combine them into something unique that works for me - and hopefully you. I now earn a full-time living as a blogger and I found that no one method from one school of thought made me successful.
When I started my first blog I had no clue what I was doing. I find that it is much easier to be a blogger when someone gives you step-by-step instructions and some sort of guidelines that you can follow. Products you buy come with an owners manual that you can turn to it to learn how to use that product. So, why isn't there an owners manual for blogging?
Here are some topics that will be covered on this site:
Once you decide that you want to be a blogger then what is your next step? Where do you go from there?
Do you pick Blogger or WordPress? What are the differences?
What is your blog going to be about?
How do you get traffic to your blog?
What about reviewing products on your blog? What is expected.
How do you get companies to find your mom blog?
How do you use Twitter and Facebook to interact with your blog? Is there a way to automate both of them so you don't spend all of your time updating Twitter and Facebook.
What is SEO (search engine optimization)?
What is link building and why do you need it for good search engine optimization?
Do I need to learn HTML?
How do you make money as a mom blogger?
There are so many more topics that bloggers need to learn about and concepts that need to be covered and I am putting them all in one place.
Feel free to send me your blogging questions you would like answered and if it is relevant to the mom blogging community at large I will cover that topic and answer your questions on the Mommy Bloggers Guide.
